Color Coat Stucco Application Continues

Completed the Stucco color coat on the North wall of the studio, with the mix of LaHabra pigments: Adobe, French Vanilla & Buff as discussed in the previous blog post.

Regarding the resulting visual texture of the stucco, following the initial trowel application, I just roughed up the surface with my hand in a circular fashion (wearing heavy-duty rubber gloves).  I'm going for a rough look.

I thought of using a hand-float tool for a 'smooth' surface finish after the trowel application, but since I'm working alone and dealing with all aspects of the stucco process, that extra time required to work a smooth finish is not efficient for my process and is irrelevant to the ultimate visual aesthetic - meaning any exterior plaster rendering on adobe, looks just fine.  The 'finished texture' of the the cob studio as reflects the process that worked for me at this time.
